The SBA 8a program has many benefits and gains. The disadvantaged businesses or firms who are unable to perform to their potential because of their disadvantages are benefited from the program. The benefits are listed below Sole source contracts- the 8a participants do not need to go through a competitive process of sole source contracts. There is a ceiling of up to $4 million for goods and services and up to $7 million for manufacturing. set aside opportunities- the 8a program has reserved acquisitions for all small businesses or categories that make the businesses or firms eligible for the 8a certification. Teaming opportunities- the 8a certified companies are eligible for Mentor Protégé from the large firms or companies to pursue more complex contract opportunities.
